Ashley started her work as a Registered Massage Therapist in a rehabilitation and chiropractic clinic, after graduating from Centennial College in 2006. This experience provided her with a deep understanding of the interdependence between health disciplines and the important role each plays in the overall health and wellbeing of her clients.
Ashley has worked at Bellesmere since 2009, providing care to a variety of clients from regular aches, pains and headaches to surgical rehabilitations, motor vehicle accident injuries, slips/falls and sports injuries. Her specialties include hot stone massage, pre and post natal and infant massage. She also practices Soft Tissue Release, an effective treatment for chronic pain.
As a goaltender for an ice hockey team, Ashley has an appreciation for the types of sports injuries and pain associated with physical activity. She is also trained in Kinesio-taping (the colourful tape you may have seen on Olympic athletes). Depending upon how it is applied, taping can help facilitate corrections in mechanical, fascial, ligament/tendon or lymphatic function. And it is not just athletes that can benefit from this treatment. Ashley has applied taping techniques to assist clients with arthritic knees suffering from inflammation and reduced mobility.
