We Provide Direct Billing to Most Insurance Companies Massage Therapy, Acupuncture and Osteopathy are covered by many extended healthcare benefits. Each insurance policy is different with regards to which treatments they cover, how much they cover and whether you need a doctor’s note to file a claim. Please check your policy with your insurance company or your HR department to confirm your coverage.

We provide direct billing to most insurance companies. Occasionally, we come across a policy that does not allow direct billing. We therefore recommend that you bring an alternative form of payment, just in case you have a policy that restricts us from billing them. If this happens, you will be given a receipt with all the information require to complete the claim yourself.

PLEASE NOTE: Osteopathy cannot be direct billed under any insurance policy.

Remember to keep your receipts, even if you do not have insurance benefits. They can be used as a healthcare deduction when you file your taxes.

NOTE:

Cancellations and Missed Appointments

Please be advised that when you schedule an appointment, a specific time is reserved for you. If you are unable to keep your appointment, a 24-hour notice of cancellation is required via phone call or through our online booking system (email cancellations are not permitted). Failure to do so will result in a missed appointment fee of:

•   $75 for ½ hour and 1 hour appointments

•   $90 for Hot Stone, 90 minute appointments or advanced massage appointments

Please note that missed appointment fees will not be covered by insurance benefits.

Late Arrivals

If you are late for your appointment, you will be charged the full appointment fee, and treated for the length of time remaining.

Terms of Payment

Payment is due at the end of the treatment. Payment accepted by cash, debit, cheque, e-transfer, credit card or direct billing to your health care benefits.

Things to Know Before Your Massage Appointment

Health History Form and Privacy Policy

Health History FormFor your convenience, you can download the Health History Forms and fill them in before your appointment. Or you can arrive 5 to 10 minutes early and complete the forms in our clinic.

Before your treatment, you will be asked to complete a confidential health history form detailing your medical history and any medications you are taking. It is important that the therapist has a full understanding of your overall health. Often, current complaints may be related to past, seemingly unrelated problems or conditions. We don’t want to just treat the symptom, we want to understand and correct the underlying problem. That can take some therapeutic detective work which is why a complete health history is taken and thoroughly reviewed with you. We need to be aware of injuries, surgeries, diseases, medicines and specific problem areas. Your therapist will assess your health situation and design the right treatment plan for you.

Once you are ready to begin the treatment, your therapist will show you how to lie comfortably on the massage table then leave the room so you may disrobe and cover yourself on the table. You may wear as much or as little clothing as you are comfortable with. During treatment, you will always be securely covered by a sheet or blanket except for the specific area being treated.
