Colleen graduated from the Sutherland Chan School of Massage Therapy in October 2024. She is pleased to become a member of the Bellesmere Massage Therapy team in January 2025.
Colleen previously spent 25 years + in retail leadership roles in Toronto. She worked with diverse teams and values strong customer service and collaboration. Client centered care, professionalism and compassion are core values for her to connect with clients and help them achieve their goals of wellness and optimal health.
Colleen is passionate about functional movement and continuing to move as we age. She grew up dancing ballet, was an avid cyclist and now coaches CrossFit to start her day. Movement is what drew Colleen to the practice of Massage Therapy. Having had previous injuries, impairments and strains, she values the healing touch of massage. Colleen offers a variety of Swedish techniques like myofascial release, trigger point therapy, joint mobilizations and stretching, along with remedial exercises to stabilize and strengthen joints and muscles. She offers manual scar work to reduce adhesions and allow the body to move more freely. She is also trained in pre and postnatal work and breast massage.
Colleen is excited to build her client base, working with clients from early to late stages in life. In school her electives involved high risk pregnancy, pre- postnatal clinic, scar clinic and seniors’ clinic – with a focus on treating patients with dementia and stroke survivors.
Colleen recently received her Level 1 practitioner certificate for Frederick (Fascial) Stretch Therapy (FST). This is a modality of assisted stretching done on a massage table with the client clothed in flexible wear. FST works with the connective tissue in your body and helps support joint maintenance.
